Shume Mishtake Shurley?

I really don’t want to deflect from my earlier post of today detailing the death of a pilot flying a Hurricane at this years RAFA Airshow at Shoreham-by-Sea’s Airport.

However, catching up on the postings made on my favourite sites over the last few days I note that Iain Dale has listed his own favourite new comers to the wonderful world of blogging.

This is a result of the compiling of his Guide to Blogging 2007 and was posted on his blog on the 14th September under ‘Guide to Blogging 2007: Top Ten Newcomers’
The list he posted is as follows;

1. Platform 10 (Con)
2. Conor Ryan (Lab)
3. Matt Wardman (Tech)
4. Mike Rouse (Con)
5. Grendel (Con)
6. The Huntsman (Right)
7. Liberty’s Requiem (Right)
8. John Redwood MP (Con)
9. Libertarian UK (Libertarian)
10. Cornerstone (Right)

Iain noted that this was “very much a personal choice and reflects the new blogs I regularly look at.”

Number 5? Noooo. He must have been thinking of someone else and made an error surely? I can’t believe that the 2007 intake is so bereft of talent that he thinks that I am worthy of a number 5 placement?

I’m genuinely overwhelmed. This was only a project resulting from wanting a distinct persona with which to comment on other blogs and an excuse to fill the time when Mrs. G is watching her various favourite American TV series. I mean what’s ‘Charmed’ all about?

Joss Whedon has a lot to answer for.

Any endorsement by Iain is a pretty serious ‘Mention in Despatches’. I hope I’m up to the challenge.

Don't be so modest - why do you think we're hell bent on getting you into Blogpower? Although now you have this recognition, you'll possibly not wish to join us. :)

Jeremy – Thank you, you’re too kind – I still reckon that Iain must be about to collect after winning a bet though.

James – Actually it would be a genuine honour if an application from me were to be accepted by the ‘Blogpower’ membership. There are some wonderful writers amongst the BP membership and the possibility of being accepted as a peer would be, for me, an achievement far greater than I would have ever expected when I started this blogging malarkey.
