Seven good things in life.

I was intending running with a ‘I can’t think of anything to post right now’ post tonight because, truth be told, the muse really has pitched up elsewhere for the last few days. Not for lack of material but just the ability to link A and B together and get a decent hook line in there.

However unexpected salvation has come via the most excellent proprietor of ‘Letters from a Tory’ who has tagged me to a meme on ‘Seven good things in life’.

In no particular order

1 – Writing that killer post, where the jokes and slightly obscure references come together and to which you receive more than 0 comments. Similar to figuring out that guitar riff or finally twigging the general theory of relativity.

2 - Ones children. Yes I know an obvious response.

3 – Occasionally having a few hours without ones children. Not at all contradictory to item 2

4 – Watching Football – Well actually it’s the walk to the ground / pub that’s also special. The building of anticipation before the event when any result is still possible. Oh and on a wish list Arsenal to beat Tottenham on the final day of the season to secure a league title whilst ensuring the tiny totts relegation.

5 – Laying on ones back with a few cans in a field or garden at night picking out galaxies, constellations, stars and planets whilst recognising and feeling secure in your utter insignificance.

6 – Enjoying trencherdom. Preferably involving a beer at about 4.5%, slabs of cured pig flesh and cheese and a variety of pickles. And gherkins. And olives. And ever so slightly salted butter. And the warm fresh bread.mmmmmmm bread

7 - Election nights. Booking the Friday off work so you can stay up all night. Playing with the swingometers on various news outlets websites. So what would a 0% Labour vote mean then? Hoping against hope that Pickfords will have a special job to do in about 18 months time.

And now for the schadenfreude.

If Benefit Scrounging Scum, Ed Clark, James Higham, Jams, Liz, JMB and WOT would like play I'd love to know their thoughts.

Or anyone elses come to that.

Trencherdom! I love that word and what it conjures up, even though I'm sure you made it up. Surely you can do better than bits of swine and pickles for your imaginary feast.

Thanks for thinking of me, I'll come up with something soon.

#6 is of great interest to me although I am not sure what 'trencherdom' is. #5 sounds realxing as well. I think I would try to combined the two.

Right, a couple of things spring to mind but I'll have to think about the others. Thanks.

I actually do that election nights!

Always, ulness it's purely local elections.
But the rest, yes.
In fact I spend a fair bit of time in between elections, speculating on future results.

The one that made me sit up last GE, was Manchester, Withington. Oddly, I think the LDs will hold it, as well.

At present, I think a hung parliament with a Cameron-Clegg coaltion as the only workable option, will be the result of the next election.

Yes I like the trencherdom one too.
