Quote of the day

Whilst I trudged into work today I was listening (as I often do) to Victoria Derbyshire’s show on Radio 5.

Predictably one of the matters covered on the phone in today were the comments made by the Archbishop of Canterbury on the inevitability of use of Sharia law along side English law to help societal cohesion when there are competing loyalties to ones cultural tradition and the state. Or something like that.

Anyway, the first caller of the day was a chap called Stephen who was railing against the Archbishop and highlighting what he saw as the ‘Muslim problem’.

He was keen to point out that this is a Christian country and went on to observe that as a result of the Archbishop's statements

‘Jesus would be spinning in his grave’

I had to chuckle at the statement and all of the unintended theological implications.

Phone in shows, gotta love ‘em

We were talking about that in the churh office on friday. It caused a great deal of merriment.

By the way, is it me or does Harry Hook look like Harold Steptoe? Or is that who the photo is and I haven't looked closely enough?
