Result of the final of the highly prestigious Emirates Cup - Arsenal 2-1 Inter Milan


I know it’s just another one of those silly pre-season friendly tournaments but on the up side Robin van Persie scored a wonder goal having played a full part in a game which the Arsenal dominated for long periods. Although also for long periods last years problem of not converting exquisite possession into goals was also apparent. Mind you if you are playing the Italian Champions it was never going to be that easy.

But overall a positive performance with RvP showing that maybe the loss of TH14 may not leave the gaping hole that everyone initially feared. Also the new boy Bakari Sagna put up a pretty good show.

At least gooners everywhere can be assured that at least the lovely new trophy cabinet at Ashburton Grove won’t be totally empty this term.
